Merlot

Merlot, son of Citrullus and Sangria, grew up learning about the sacred duty to protect the melons. Like his father, he loves to read and learn. He has a fondness for plants and likes to study how genetics work. He hopes to learn how to cultivate even more tasty melons!

Merlot loved playing with his siblings, Amarone and Laurent. As hatchlings they would cuddle together in the nest and as they grew they would play games together. Though they've all gone to new homes, he hopes they'll keep in touch. He is happy to have found a home with his cousin, Melindo.

He inherited his mother's spines, which he's learned how to use defensively. While he is strong enough to hold his own in a standard fight, he would prefer to avoid direct combat. He is rather stealthy and will sneak away if given the opportunity. He also likes to pop up and startle dragons who don't expect him, though he only does this with friends who find it amusing. He has thought of weaponizing it against Beast Clan raiders, if only Melindo would take him on a raid...

Knowing that he isn't the first choice for a fight, Merlot spends much of his time researching melon dragons to help learn how to bring more of them to life. He has been learning about plants from his cousin's sweetheart, Melanee. Together they have been studying the mutations that certain melon kin have expressed, evolving them into more defensive dragons (such as his own spines).

Generation #2 I am a warrior of the Watermelon Lineage! I was born and have trained to face the Beastclan threat to consume all the watermelons in the world! Alongside participating in fierce battle, I also help with the regrowth of the wanning watermelon population and to help my lineage grow to stop Beastclan once and for all.
