MIYA ATSUMU
Born and raised in a rural coastal earth flight village, Atsumu is one of the isles long time regulars as the current leader of a small "shipping company" who's known to stay docked in the isles for months at a time. He’s known by the locals for his loud but blunt attitude, terrible jokes, and the dramatics he gets to when they don't go down well. When he's not out sailing the high seas Atsumu can usually be found at his partner Shinsuke's farm, on the southern island "Nari" of the Isles, helping out with the daily upkeep of the farm. While he does make a sincere effort to help out farming was truely never his calling like it was Shinsuke's, as such he's often seen causing trouble in the markets or trying to get his partners attention instead. He’s also somehow gained the favour the population of foxes in the areas surrounding the isles farmlands that always seem to be somewhere close by when he's visiting, keen to cause trouble all the time much to Atsumu delight and annoyance when he’s ultimately responsible for cleaning up after them. His pirating crew - otherwise known as the Black Jackals, is an offshoot from the original crew he sailed with of which notably included his twin brother Osamu, and his husband Shinsuke who was the crews captain. This crew, the Field Foxes, were infamous for their overwhelming presence and tactics causing many a trouble to merchant and trade vessels they were not allied with. After the raid of a lifetime, the crew split, with notablyShinsuke and Osamu taking up a more stable lifestyles on the Shimmering Shallows Isles as a farmer and chef respectively. Atsumu continued on with his lifestyle at high seas as co-captain with Aran, a member of the original field foxes and one of Atsumu's childhood friend of their newly formed band. They are now joined by a host of new crew-mates and friends they picked up while sailing the seas a of Sornieth. They now alternate with sailing the outer-coastlines surrounding the lands of the 11 flights and the inland sea of a Thousand Currents, with frequent trips back to the Isles that act as a home base of sorts to store procured goods and to hide out when they catch the ire of a particularly wealthy merchant enterprise. |

Quote:
For days, the sound of something rummaging through his hoard has been driving Atsumu insane. He knows he’s not crazy; yesterday he went out to light his candles and came back to obvious nibble marks on his dinner. A rummager through his items Atsumu could accept. Curiosity is a trait that he prides himself on. But a food thief - - -
That’s a declaration of war.
Which is how Atsumu found himself in his current position: crouched on all four paws next to the giant pile of blankets he’d left in a disarray this morning, staring intently at them as if they were prone to movement at any moment. Anyone who entered his abode would probably think him crazy, but what others may or may not think of him at this particular moment bears no weight on Atsumu’s mind.
Oh no, he’s got a thief to catch.
He crouches there patiently, belly just barely grazing the floor as his gaze stares on unwaveringly, for long enough that his legs begin to cramp. He’s starting to wonder if he’d imagined seeing the small thing scurry under the pile earlier, or if maybe it had managed to escape without him noticing - - - but then he sees it. The slightest shift in the pile, as if something small were trying to sneakily make its escape.
Too bad for it that he’s sneakier. In fact, he’s the king of sneaky.
These are the thoughts he thinks to himself as he shifts his weight to his hind paws and launches himself - - - straight up, in an arc, with his tail soaring up over his head - - - before pouncing head-first into the pile of blankets with his hind quarters sticking straight up.
Nowhere in sight is the little critter that’s been stealing his food - - - though small pellets left behind indicate its success in having fled his clutches.
… He’s starting to think that he may have accidentally said the sneaky thing out loud...
