A nimble figure stood before the crowd, his long, curved neck tipped up as he jauntily strummed his lute, belting a song of a pirate captain from long ago. He had shining grey-blue skin and large clawed hands that plucked at the lute’s strings so fast it was a miracle they did not break. He stood on two bird-like legs, his talons wrapped in linen and clutching the stage in earnest. A long, thin snout split to flash razor sharp teeth, obscured behind lips that twisted to form a mischievous grin. His eyes shone pale blue with no pupils, like scintillating windows to the sky itself. He was dressed in a ragtag sort of way, his lean frame hidden behind a long, brown sailor’s overcoat that flapped about at his thighs like a ship’s flags. A long, curling tail billowed behind him, poised like a writhing snake.
“Who’s up for another round?!” He hollered.
The crowd roared, and Fane tipped his head back and laughed.
