___Apocalypse is the head of the Council. Her true name long forgotten, as she lost the ability to speak through an experiment in pursuit of power. Apocalypse was nicknamed after the destruction she leaves in her wake. Because of her inability to speak, the Council serves to interpret her commands.

___Before the Council became so corrupt with power, they were a colony of Banescales seeking refuge from Azazel's Legion in the South.

___Apocalypse was merely a child, when she led the survivors North to hide in the shadows. It was because of her leadership, bravery, and innocence that the City of Obsidia appeared before them. The shadows protect those that seek refuge in it. Zalaam and the city were then manifested.

___Apocalypse had a real name then. She was elected Supreme Leader and the Council was formed by the refugees. Vowing never to be helpless again, they grew in the shadows. The Council members would forcibly find subjects to experiment behind the back of their leader.

___They were jealous as much as they were cowards. After a breakthrough, they were able to temporarily transfer their strength to a subject, however, crippling them during the transfer. As preparations were made to conduct the procedure on Apocalypse, a unanimous decision was made to also corrupt her mind in the process so that they could truly be in control.

___Thus... the "experiment-gone-wrong" left our leader mute and mindless, becoming a puppet, for the Council.

___All eyes are on Apocalypse and Zalaam. The council knows that Zalaam, when defeated, will possess the body of the victor as a new vessel. With Apocalypse and her mind wiped, the council will successfully have control over Zalaam, itself.
