Edgehog
The Wandering Sage
The Wandering Sage
|
Edgehog was never one to fit in. He was born a prince in a distant land, destined to one day become king of one of the strongest nations in the world. However, even coming from a family of strong mages, he was born with more Power than any of his predecessors- heck, he was born with more Power than anybody else ever had been. But all Power comes with a price, so Edgehog was also born with a wicked heart. For years, the king and queen grew constantly more fearful of their son. So, when he turned sixteen, they sent him of to a prodigious boarding school halfway across the world. They thought that if they distanced themselves from Edgehog, he couldn't hurt them. They were wrong. After his parents both died in an unfortunate 'accident' Edgehog had to be sent home to become the new king. It was almost immediately apparent that his parent's fears were valid; Power can corrupt anybody, especially royalty. After many wars, genocides, and harsh battles, the Gods themselves took action. For the first time in an age, they set foot upon this land. They tried to strip him of all Power, to make him into a nothing, a nobody. However, Fate had other plans, or rather, the God of Magic did. What happened on that fateful day will never truly be known, as everybody who witnessed the Battle of the Slab was killed, save two, and they're never going to talk. No, all that's known is that ever since then, Edgehog has been seemingly immortal. It's been a thousand years since he was cursed by Memphi, the God of Magic, and still Edgehog lives on. Now he wanders the world, seemingly trying to help those in need, although his true agenda is still unknown. Many have tried and failed to kill him, each one of them killed in turn. Perhaps he has gained true immortality, something that no other being ever has. |
You’re nothing to me but a burden to carry,
A weight to slow me down.
You’re just the thing that’s making me tarry,
The pull causing me to drown.
And yet, as I think it, I know it’s not true,
You’re the thing that I can’t live without.
I say that there’s nothing I hate more than you,
But even as I say it I feel doubt.
I’ve said that I hate you, and yet I can’t hate,
Even though I should,
Perhaps it is love or perhaps it is fate,
That I still care when no one else could.
"Hmm... What a handsome reflection."
