 ⨳ B I O G R A P Y ⨳  The Arcanist needs Eyes. ______The heavens are always shifting, stars swirling about like flecks of dust on the edge of an eddy. Light sparks and fades, bodies colliding, crashing, combining and fizzling out. The cosmos are constantly in motion, and the Arcanist needs eyes to see them all. ______Virgo is just one of the clan leaders' many, many children, one of the Arcanist's many, many Eyes — born bright and beautiful; born blessed and cursed. Virgo will never die, never age, never grow, and never change. ______Virgo was born blind, but not for lack of sight. Rather, his eyes belong to the Arcanist. The only thing he can see —the only thing he will ever see— are the stars. The poor hatchling isn't to be let outside at night, lest his gaze become lost in the lives and deaths of stars millions of light-years away. But it's a struggle. As soon as night falls, the sigils on his forehead glow anew and a maddening compulsion quickly sets upon him, urging him to climb to the highest branch of the Starwood Strand and touch the sky itself. Just a sliver of moonlight between the tree branches will send him into this madness until the sunrise, whereupon he'll drop dead from exhaustion. ______During the day, Virgo is selectively mute and functionally blind, though that doesn't stop the other members of his clan finding his presence and manner unnerving. He is young, and yet wiser than his years, as if he's gained peculiar insight from the stars far beyond, lending him an unsettling aura. He will forever be younger than them, and yet eternally be wiser than them. Even his siblings keep their interactions brief. ______Though his dear parents do try, the only dragon who can tolerate his presence for any extended amount of time, who can temper his night-fervors, who can soothe his restless torment, is Caecilian. During the day, he spends all of his time shadowing the older dragon, attempting to learn to sightlessly navigate the world the way they do. If he could, Virgo would follow their lead and go the way of the sage, donning a cover to protect his accursed, all-seeing eyes— if only he could find one in his size!
