Omisha is descended from a group of plague mirrors who invaded Nature territory soon after the development of the Seedscar, sent by the Plaguebringer herself to gain information on the territory should an invasion occur. However, the conflict settled into an uneasy tension with neither side wanting to make a move, so the mirrors were left without further contact and decided to settle in the Shrieking Wilds. From a single nest clutch, Omisha was born to two of these mirrors. It was only natural that a plague-blessed mirror with a nature element would have... interesting powers. |

Omisha grew up as part of the pack. Despite living in Nature territory for a number of years, they had still sworn an oath of secrecy to the Plaguebringer and wouldn't reveal themselves to the inhabitants of the land, so they lived in the most dangerous and deepest part of the jungle where there were little dragons. During this time, Omisha learnt to survive and adapt in unforgiving conditions. She lived to all the standards of a perfect Plague dragon but something still wasn't right.
One evening, as a child, Omisha stumbled across the body of a dead parrot. It was so pitiful; not large enough for a meal, but the bright colours and soft feathers attracted her. She ran her claws over the body, wanting to touch something so sweet, when it began to twitch. She jumped back and watched the bird - somewhat awkwardly - fly away. It was certainly dead when she had found it. Yet, there it flew. It was such an odd experience that, on the first opportunity, she told her pack what had occurred. They stared back at her with horror, not awe. Her parents were quick to tell her that things that have died don't deserve to live. That they had failed the test of life and shouldn't be cared for. Resurrection is a perversion of the Plaguebringer's ways and that it should never happen again. Omisha apologized, though she didn't really see how the parrot being able to fly again was her fault, and she promised to never do it again. Unfortunately, that wasn't a promise she could keep. Whilst she remained blissfully unaware, her pack would watch as carcasses twitched when she would eat. A tree - strangled by vines - would flourish when she napped in its branches. As an experiment, the adults would throw crushed bugs onto her whilst she slept, and hear her complain about being covered in beetles come morning. It seemed that, the combination of the Plague knack for survival, combined with the Nature drive to grow and outlast the competition, had resulted in Omisha's powers of necromancy. It was the natural result of her strong plague and nature magic. The pack decided these powers were a danger to their ways and migrated to a different part of the territory, leaving Omisha - still a child - alone in her sleep. The expectation, of course, being that she would be killed by the jungle. However, as a part of living in the most inhospitable reaches of the Viridian Labyrinth, it was inevitable that there were going to be isolated tribes residing there as well. It was in one of these that Omisha was taken in, discovered by the group while foraging and seen as a sign from the Gladekeeper herself. Omisha was too disorientated and traumatized at the time to detail much of her past to them, so it seemed like she was born from the forest itself. [tba] |
