Gargoyle

A miniscule stone statue - the most baby of gargoyles.
Chubby tum and thick, squishy beans are carved in loving detail.
Her mane flows with intricate delicacy, curling and flowing in smooth granite.
But at night, when no one is looking...she comes to life.
A tiny tongue bleps out as her mouth opens and a warm gust of air pants out.
Her tail wiggles to and fro excitedly.
Murder mittens begin to knead, massive toes stretching and relaxing in pure joy.
Green eyes blink open and look around her world with curiosity and wonder.
No dragon will ever see her true form. To all others, she will appear as stone.

But the smaller denizens of Sornieth - they see her.
Little paws scurry along the warm softness of her fur.
Tiny tails disappear into the warm nest of her hair.
Big ears perk up at the sound of her heartbeat.
Tiny whiskers twitch happily as she daintily pets her little friends.

Only the mice know.
