Eleanor, an ancient Pearlcatcher, never told him what happened to his parents, the unfortunate truth is that not even she knew. All she knew is that he was destined for a war that would never end. So hidden along with other fodder hatchlings, he waited.

Liver, a large ridgeback, was simply passing through the plague homeland when he came across the brave little skydancer. He wasn't sure if it was the pleading look on Eleanor's face, or the way the skydancer fearlessly stood to protect his friends, but Liver knew he was destined for more than this. After learning about the hatchlings fodder fate, Liver tossed the Pearl a bag of coin and brought the skydancer with him. At first the little wyrm was resistant, but with Eleanor's gently bidding he followed suit.

Newly christened Bewylderbeast, he set off with Liver for the Warren and a life of possiblity. His protective nature made him perfect as a battalion recruit, and for a while he was pleased.

However after Liver's death, Bewylderbeast took up the mantle of rescuer: gathering wayward souls and protecting the innocent. Recently he's been tasked with finding the beast of Carnet and put a stop on the nesting ground massacre.
