RENARD "BANNED FOREVER"

``it was obvious that, quiet as a rat, god was nowhere near. ``

...click, clack, click, clack...
He could hear the sound of talons above, taunting him. He pushed against his enclosed space, short of breath and unable to see what he had been trapped in. This cell, this cursed place, it kept him within. His head stung and dripped with a cyan blood that he'd fail to see- but wouldn't fail to feel. To no avail, he'd try again. Something had kept him there, but he still couldn't tell what.

It wouldn't take long before he was driven further into a sense of desperation as his breathing began to fall short. He clawed, clawed at what he thought was the ceiling, clawed until he could not feel his talons anymore, clawed until he- until he broke through.

Renard gasped, catching a deep breath as he stared at his surroundings. He could not find the supposed dragon, or dragons, who he heard walking around... however, his sight was quick to latch onto the odd stone that held an etched version of his name. His processing turned to panic and his adrenaline had worn away. With a widened gaze he screeched in horror and backed away.

He had just dug out of his own grave.

Renard is a Guardian who was brought back to life by his lovely deity friend, Space. Of course... Space, in this timeline at least, didn't bother to stick around and pretty much left him to his own devices. He didn't want to be brought back but we can't all get what he want, now can we? He didn't take too kindly to it at first. After all, he was- and still is -in constant agony for some pretty obvious reasons and everyone still hates him just as much as they used to. I wouldn't be too happy either.

He's a loner, although he doesn't want to be. His only friends are the animals (specifically the worms) that he meets and it's a bit odd how much better he gets along with them rather than his old friends.

``you ever just- have those days where you're constantly being hunted down and you feel like a mistake to society as a whole? yeah, i get that a lot. you sort of get used to it after awhile but it's one of those things that just make you go 'man, i wish i could change this,' even though you know that's basically impossible at this point. in other words, my life is an existential crisis and i will drag everyone down with me! at least i have the earthworms to speak to, what would i do without them?``

``i have reason to suspect that he was at fault for my capture... but i can tell that he's out there, looking for me even through all of this. our parents- or i should say our father in particular -were quite relieved to hear that he was gone, but when it came to my disappearance? it struck the whole town. i can only hope that he's doing well, that crow is up to some sort of plan that might just shatter paradise. but by the gods... if i'm going to die, then i at least want to see my brother one last time.``

``an absolute disgrace to monsterkind, any faith i had for him was wiped long ago. i wouldn't trust him with anything, even if it meant my life depended on it. he caused our village to be left in ruins, caused the death and capture of our allies, and then had the audacity to beg to be saved. you really expect me to forgive him for any of it? he's better off being left as a forgotten corpse and perhaps it was an act of mercy that he died in a way that wasn't by my own talons.``

``the kid tries his best, really... despite what dracula says i still believed he could change. i kept him alive for as long as i could for a reason, i mean, did you really think dracula would just let him live normally? i was the only bit of protection he had and i tried, i truly did. but you can't prevent anything, isn't that a harsh truth? i simply wish that out there, in the new world he may reside in, he's doing alright. he didn't deserve the fate he got if you ask me...``
