The Nest Tender
"Hey little one~! Ready to face the dawn?"

For all of Euryale's aggressive mothering behavior, she really doesn't know how it's supposed to go. She grew up alone, after all. Good thing Eos is here to help her. Having come from a large but happy family, she knows how they should work, to support and love each other. She's been trying to help Euryale understand that, but it's hard trying to teach the older mirror anything. :\

She was a wandering nest tender and parent helper for a while before she settled in Clan Mediasolis, learning how to care for elemental eggs of all kinds. The right temperature of lava for fire eggs, how to keep arcane eggs from floating too high, appropriate substitutes for Plague nest slime.... And of course more conventional nest materials, furs, reeds, etc, hatchling toys, all of that. She's very social and even now travels to nearby clans whenever the nesting grounds are empty on vacation. She can be a little bit of a meddler when it comes to other dragons' love lives. She keeps all their secrets, but is prone to nudging them into making a move or 'conveniently' asking them to go places or fetch something for her to force them to interact.

She doesn't neglect her own lovelife either, having proposed to the head of the Clanguard Goldfoo not long after her settling into the clan. He's a catch for sure; a responsible, strong drake with a soft spot for the children she so loved. The hatchlings just make her so happy! She helps all the expectant mothers of the clan, tending to their nests if duty calls them away, entertaining hatchlings alongside Betelgeuse, and using storytime tricks to make sure they eat their food. They're always a pawful, but the joy of watching them play is always worth the effort.

Eos sits among the hatchlings, cooing and singing to them softly. She didn't need to go anywhere when the Shadow assault started, already ensconced in the tunnels of the lair. She ignores the noises outside as best she can; if she lets the little ones see her anxiety they will feel it more so. She knows Goldfoo will be back. Euryale will see to it.

"Eos, can we talk for a minute?" The Imperial looks over from adding another layer of fur to the newest nest and smiles at the matriarch.
"Of course dear. Shall we walk?" As the clan leader guides them both out of the tunnels and towards the redwood paths that ultimately lead to the Beacon, the imperial watches the mirror that she feels she helped raise. Euryale is technically older than she is, but it doesn't feel like it. Eos had more experience mothering her siblings, better role models in her family and clan, and for all that the matriarch ran the clan well, she had not been the best mother to the hatchlings she raised. She thinks that, through all the teaching she tried to give her despite Euryale's feigned disinterest, the mirror really did a better job raising Solstice for it.
"What's on your mind?" She asks, knowing that without prompting, her companion might never tell her.
"...Did you know anyone who changed breeds?"

"Come now, I know you know all the dragons who've changed breed here. You keep track of everyone." She cajoled and Euryale rolled all four of her eyes.
"Those are different, Ulcifet needed to to stay alive and Tecla.... Tecla is different. I meant people who didn't need to, or felt they need to."
