_______Murmur_______
Murmur was born a noble in the Adamas Realm located in Arcane. From a young age he had a lot of responsibility placed on his shoulders to unhold the family name. He was taught in a royal school among his noble peers and trained to fight like his father and siblings before him. Many had already been lost to various battles to defend their home while others left to find their own way of life, losing their noble lineage. The young hatchling worked hard to be as great as his parents and rise above his peers. When the king fell and a civil war arose, he was sent to fight and drive off the king's elder son, Tantris. The young dragon didn't see much of the actual fight but he could remember losing his parents in the battle. It was a devastating blow but it did give him the opportunity to become a great commander of his own section of the army. He was one of the youngest and took great pride in this new promotion. Murmur vowed to serve Eris, their new and rightful queen as decreed by their deceased king, with his life. It was something all commanders and soldiers were meant to do but as the newest rising star he found this to be even more special. For a long time the realm was at peace. Murmur trained his soldiers and kept his own skills sharp. Queen Eris kept close watch for any sign of her adoptive brother, fearing he'd return to try finishing what he'd started after their father died. The wildclaw hadn't forgotten the guardian but most of the recruits and those who lived within the realm had. Those that were alive during that time and old enough to remember rarely spoke of the horrors outside of educating the young. And then he returned. Murmur was jealous when he found out he wasn't the first commander chosen to fight him off, though Eris had assured him it was because his stills far exceeded what was needed. He doubted that, especially given he was also tasked with pushing his soldiers even harder. The fighting picked up and he watched from afar as the veil and his kin that took his place as commander struggled to continue holding Tantris and his rogues off. It was a disappointment and wasn't long before Eris approached him to handle the situation. Murmur took command of the other soldiers, much to the displeasure of the veil who should have been in charge. For a time, the wildclaw let him think he was still in charge. Unlike the first war that broke out however, Tantris had returned with greater power. Murmur watched as the soldiers died around him and the defenses weakened. Constantly, Queen Eris would whisper sweet nothings about how they'd be fine so long as he could defend the realm. But it wasn't something he could prevent with what he'd been given. When the final attack came it was a slaughter. He could only run and make sure his queen could escape through the sewers. Murmur knew there were innocents left behind to be ruled by Tantris but there wasn't anything they could do. They were the only two who made it out and had to lay low or risk being killed on sight. They found a place in the Starwood Strand to rebuild, deeming their new home the Verdum Adamas Realm. He wasn't sure how they'd ever rebuild from the devastating loss they took but Eris was determined, almost frighteningly so. Murmur was given a new title of King to rule beside her, though as much as he enjoys being honored with such a high rank, he wasn't sure how he felt essentially becoming her mate. It would be odd, yes, but Murmur enjoyed the rest of the perks that came with the position enough to deal with it. The spiral wasn't trying to force hatchlings upon him anyway. At least not at the moment. He knew eventually they'd likely have a nest once their new home was better developed. While he didn't love her, he would love any hatchlings they might have together and make sure they'd survive. |
