As you hold the bandage to your wounds the walls move around you. You know that it means the next challenge has arrived, you get up and draw your sword. It instead of another dangerous dragon, you wander into what appears to be a bedroom of sorts. Inside you see a dragon who’s… stitching fabric to a corpse. He’s crying, and he looks very young. All the sudden he stops what he’s doing, and starts crying more. He sets a claw on the body and it starts to glow green. A swirling silhouette of the dead wildclaw rises up from its corpse. It holds the other dragons claws and smiles. “You tried. It was painless. Thank you.” And then the ‘ghost’ vanished. You walk over to comfort the hatchling. You sit there as he cries for a bit, and then he stands up and gestures for you to sit in a chair nearby. “I couldn’t save her, but I will save you.” He gets out some fabric and a needle. He approaches you and sets the fabric over the wound on your arm. you back away nervously as he brings the needle closer. His claw begins to glow again and you start to relax. As he stitches the fabric to your scales all you feel is a tingling feeling. When he finishes he ties a knot and pulls the thread away. The fabric changes color and melds into your scales, there’s a slight difference but if you weren’t looking for it then you definitely wouldn’t notice. He comes back with some food, the first meal you’ve seen in a while. You ask him who he is, as most of the dragons you’ve meet so far have tried to kill you. “My name is patch. I… don’t know who I am. I’ve been in the labyrinth as long as I remember…” he says “the labyrinth sends me those who are hurt, and then sends them back out into the maze.” Your quiet. This poor child has been facing death for so long he can’t remember his life before. “I’m gonna get us both out of here.” You say. “I can’t leave” he responds “if I leave, the labyrinth victims will have no hope for survival. As much as I wish I could leave, I can’t let them die.” You spend the night there, but when you wake up you are back in the labyrinth. Now it is time to go face the other dragons…. “If I ever get out of here, I will make sure that people know to find him…. And save him….”
It has been many years since your escape from the labyrinth. now you meet another who wants to venture in. You know you cannot stop them, you’ve already tried to talk them out with your story’s. so you offer them one piece of advice.
“Find patch. He and Oda-….” You pause. Odalia can’t help them anymore. “He is your only hope. And please…. Don’t leave him. Don’t make my mistake. Save him. I failed. Fix what I could not.”
