Biography

(In)FAQDragonsona • -Clan Lore- • About Me

𝓕or a cursed, broken city that even the light itself wished to forget, the Hewn City was getting awfully popular. It'd quickly risen to become one of the Sunbeam Ruins' most popular lair locations and attracted thousands of dragons for research and tourism. This was a problem for a variety of reasons. Not only did the unknowable shade that gripped the city potentially present a safety risk to the clans that lived there, the growing population presented the risk of damaging important artifacts and ritual sites.

Eventually the problem grew in importance to the point that the Light Flight's most trusted elders gathered to work out a solution. They convened for days, consulting every source and reference they could to achieve the best view of the situation, before coming to a result they believed would satisfy everyone.

A glitter animation of text in a serif font reading 'The Hewn Suburbs'

Built around the borders of the Hewn City, they'd pull clans in and keep them out of harm's way, while forming the perfect place for clans to grow. Inviting orbs of light would line every street, which would all be paved in pristine marble and lined with perfectly manicured lots. Every clan would have balconies and porches to let in the light and be set up by wooden fences painted a pure white. Public parks filled with playgrounds for growing hatchlings would fill every street corner. It would be perfect.

It wasn't. The clans that were expected to flock to the suburbs in droves simply didn't come, and clans who lived in the Hewn City near them descended further into the shadows to escape them. Even worse, the very elders who had been so supportive of the concept questioned where their revenue was going to come from. Without clans paying taxes and expansion fees, the suburbs were merely an expense laid onto a flight that was already contending with costly compensation for clans impacted by Luminax. Over time, lacking support and with worsening complaints mounting, the suburbs decayed. The pristine marble tarnished from years of weather and grime. The wooden fences' paint peeled off, revealing the rotting core underneath. The perfectly manicured lots and playgrounds fell prey to natural succession. The inviting light orbs were snuffed out by the darkness of the Hewn City as it reclaimed what had been stolen from it.

The citizens and elders of the Light Flight decided to forget the suburbs ever happened. They were an interesting concept, sure, but one which didn't pan out in execution. No one lived there and they were left to rot - until someone who liked that sort of thing came along looking to start a clan.

Once Enforcer moved in and began spreading their message, others grew attracted to this unprecedented influx of population, following the Enforcer and creating a clan of edgelords who didn't take anything seriously, including themselves. Over time, the enigmatic Enforcer's clan formed a whole community, dealing out and contending with all the trials of life as both part of and distinct from the light. This clan grew from the integration of all those who wished to remain in the forsaken project. They served not the Eleven, their only loyalties being to each other or to deities that transcended Sornieth. Eventually, factions developed, each of them intersecting and playing off of each other's loyalties.

Ravenskull Broadsword Ascendant Edge
An organization of primarily Imperials led by Distorticon who believe in the importance of edge as a way to find one's self. They invite struggling young dragons to join their ranks and use therapeutic techniques to teach these disaffected youth how to properly express themselves. But all is not peaceful as a strange cabal plans to destroy the very constructive edge they rely on.

Malign Presence Edge Flight
A group of dragons who call themselves edgelords but are really just jerks led by BadVibes who serve the extradimensional being the Endmaker, a creature associated with destruction, corruption, and despair. After months of horrible rituals including sacrifices, abduction of dragons from other clans, and forcing dragons to lose control of their own animum and become constructs of pure Edgeslime, they were able to bring the Endmaker into Sornieth and were prepared to do her foul bidding...until she got sick of them and left for the Tangled Wood. But as soon as they bring her back, it's gonna be over for all you non-truly-edgy losers!

Reserved Jeweler Hewn Shade Cabal
A diabolical group of Shade worshippers from deep in the Hewn City who abduct good suburban dragons, sacrifice them to the Shade, and wreak havoc across the land...or do they? Everyone hates them on principle, but no one can remember anything specific that they did. All except for Mistake, who finds something much stranger than the Shade is toying with him, his friends, and the rest of the Hewn Suburbs alike.

Omen Seeker Hewn HOA
The non-edgelord-aligned neighbors. They liked the edgy, sparkly vibes and thought the suburbs would be a good place to get away from Eleven influence. They aren't loyal to any particular faction, but all have interesting personal lives and involvements of their own. Well, as interesting as anything gets in the suburbs.

It appears this clan has attracted some attention from elsewhere as well, whether they're aware of it or not. These dragons and...other things are invested in the clan's affairs for whatever reason, and seem to be monitoring them. For what purpose remains to be seen.
Voltaic Halo The Archetypes
A trio of mysterious entities, led by the Enforcer, progenitor, benefactor, and deity of the Hewn Suburbs...who hasn't been seen in months ever since vanishing into a dimensional rift, but still communicates with the suburbs and toys in the locals' lives. What are the Enforcer's goals? Why are there multiple entities spawned from them? And what do the actions of the Archetypes mean for the Hewn Suburbs? No one is quite sure...

Starfall Blossom The Nightcored Realm
A world outside of space and time, ruled by edgy impulses, vibrant colors, and unrestrained creativity. Created and ruled by the extradimensional deity The Edgecrafter, who was originally formed by an Arcane-aligned artist mixing their love for a character and potent emotionally-powered magic. The Edgecrafter is not currently engaging directly, but he is potently aware of some of the strange, edgy occurrences in the Hewn Suburbs. Thus far, he hasn't done anything.

She's lovely! The layering of the breastplate + the luminous mantle is so nice; I actually like that it only shows one pair of wings instead of both, it looks so cute. You were also being super clever with the armor piece; wasp on her actually looks like part of the armor from the same set as the chest and legs, and that's a super cool way of creating that effect as the joints of wasp look like gaps in an armor.

They are so pretty!!! I'm usually not the biggest fan of Guardians but oh they are so pretty~

This one has such great matching apparel I thought she was wearing a skin at first! The way the breastplate and mantle is layered looks wonderful, and I especially like how the darkened face caused by the cowl matches the secondary color. Just a great light themed dragon all around.

You have such a good eye for combining apparel pieces! Divine, mysterious, and light vibes at their best.

SeriousLightClan is a shadow dragon, I see a healthy sense of humour.
Seriously though, the apparel goes super well with the colours, and it's great use of the new Brightshine apparel!

I'll admit the name gave me a laugh, but oh my goodness, what a pretty light dragon! The hood and horn combo work out really well, and I love all the contrasts between the golds and lights and darks. And the matching familiar is the cherry on top!

I love this beautiful girl. She looks like she has an accent on, but it’s that youve dressed her amazingly well. Ice use of the relatively new golden compass too!. I also love that her familiar matches.

Her outfit is gorgeous ! I thought she was wearing a full-body armor because her Gold Wasp gene mixes so well with her Gold Filigree apparels. I also LOVE how the black parts of the Breastplate's "scarf" and the black parts of the Lustrous Mantle go so well with her Obsidian wings :3
SeriousLightClan has a really nice Light rep aesthetic, what a cool dragon <3
