Biography
"A new day has begun
The worst is over now, but the damage has been done
And you bear the scars of everything that you've been through
Now you have someone who believes in you"
he/him | apprentice healer | in a relationship with Sky
Saar was found collapsed, covered in various wounds, his fur tangled and filthy. Birch thought the younger dragon was dead at first, as well as perhaps the largest tundra he had ever seen (and he had seen a lot of tundras). Blossom corrected her son on both accounts--unlike him, she'd seen a gaoler before, and she was willing to take a closer look to confirm this one was alive. The guardians carried the stranger home so Thorn could tend to his wounds.
As Saar recovered, Thorn kept him occupied by teaching him about healing, and Thorn and Sky both talked to him about the clan and their home. Saar always said he would leave, he was a gaoler with a mission, but as he watched the warm, happy clan take care of each other and act like a loving family, he realized maybe he wasn't cut out for a gaoler's destiny. He wanted to be a part of this.
When he'd healed enough to travel again--albeit with lingering scars--everyone expected him to leave. But instead he went to Thorn and Blossom to humbly ask for a permanent place in their clan. After some good-natured laughter, Thorn assured the young gaoler that the formality was unnecessary and when they said Saar would be welcome to stay as long as he liked, staying for good was included in that.
So he stayed. He continues to learn the art of healing from Thorn, both with herbs and magic, and it's turned out he has a real talent for it, even finding that he can use his ice magic to numb pain or reduce fevers. Thorn is very proud of him, and very glad he decided to stay after all.
