Gold fire and burning flesh. She tries to breathe, but her throat is filled with smoke. She chokes, trying to keep her wings steady.
Mercy's roar splits the sky, Now.
They all converge and she charges with them at the halo. Screams, bodies piling one after the other. She is reaching it now. Her turn. She screams-
The copper coloured dragon jolts awake, tail thrashing and claws scrabbling wildly. Her eyes roll in panic.
You're safe, you're fine.
She takes a moment to calm her racing heart before rising out of bed, grabbing the keys and heading to the corner of her room that hides her secret door. A click and panels grating and then she is heading down, spiralling down steps deep into the earth.
Furnaces roar and the overpowering heat hits her as she arrives to the palace of her secret army.
Her giants.
Orange flames dance off their bronze armour; they tower over her, looking down with expressionless faces and empty eyes.
She trails a claw over their features.
"So many things happened to this world, to me, that shouldn't have," she whispers to them, "and you...you, will prevent them from ever happening again."
