Subspeices: Magma Guardians
Generations ago a group of young Guardians went exploring into an underwater cave system on the Border of the Ashfall Wastes and The Sea of a Thousand Currents hoping to find something of value or to prove it to others who doubted them. Some never really wanted to go but had to go for various other reasons. Down in the underwater cave system they found a cavern with air in it and surfaced to search. In the caverns they found lots of strange creatures from mushrooms hanging above magma pools to slightly luminescent lizards. Just as they started to gather and think about leaving and earthquake occurred knocking a bunch of debri loose in the underwater tunnel blocking them in. Trapped, they were forced to survive there while looking for a way out. Over the years some of their descendants started to adapt to the intense heat being generated by the magma down there and in order to see in the pitch black down in the caves away from the magma their hide changed with stripes and a patch of discolored skin on their necks right under their heads all that glowed slightly.
