Biography

Iris' avatar
Arcane dragons have a natural curiosity that cannot be satisfied by merely reading about it. They must find out for themselves how the world around them works, often with disastrous results. But put them under the watchful eye of a master alchemist, and that destructive energy can often be honed into useful creativity.

One of the oldest dragons in the clan, Iris is well-respected. She was originally brought into the clan as a mate for a dragon named Kyros, but eventually Kyros decided to join the Arcanist’s research team and had to leave the clan.

With her mate gone, Iris decided to dedicate her life to research herself, but within the bounds of her clan. She often would explore the magical differences between the outer parts of Arcane territory and the inner portion, figuring out where exactly spells are more effective and why.

But when Baldwin moved into the Trading Post, Iris got a new obsession: alchemy. She grew to love throwing junk from the clan hoard into the pot to see what new objects – or even life forms – she could create.

When Baldwin transformed, she was on the research team to find out why. While time constraints had forced her not to be amongst the very first to discover the exact fusion of ingredients to create this new breed, she was amongst those who managed to get one from the pot early.

Other dragons often ask what it’s like to be able to create life like that. She just shrugs nonchalantly. It’s no different from anything else that comes out to there, whether a slimy pile of sentient goop or a beautiful set of armor.

The power to create life could be a powerful thing for those who would abuse it. Absent-minded Arcane dragons, however, are very unlikely to do so. If there’s anyone a clan should set in front of a brewing pot, it’s one of the Arcane.

Exalting Iris to the service of the Arcanist will remove them from your lair forever. They will leave behind a small sum of riches that they have accumulated. This action is irreversible.
