One of the first Obelisk ever created, Thomas was carved by the Earthshaker himself. Unlike his siblings Vision and Perseverance, who embrace the shared destiny of their breed, Thomas has always felt uneasy about it. Most dragons aren't aware of these inner thoughts, though, as he most often presents himself as a rather friendly and cheerful sort of fellow. Known around Home as a brilliantly intelligent, wily dragon with a passion for doing what is right, Thomas is quickly making a name for himself among Home's young archaeologists.

- Biography
Thomas is a member of the very first group of Obelisk to be created, carved out of stone and brought to life by the Earthshaker deep under Dragonhome. Having come to life as a fully-grown adult, Thomas' early memories are confusing at best, and all he knows for sure is he decided to stick together with two other Obelisk from the group, his siblings Vision and Perseverance. Unlike his siblings, who chose their names based on traits they found most important, Thomas decided on a simple, everyday name for himself. The three siblings were brought to Home by Jude, Home's archaeology professor, who had been in Dragonhome assisting on a dig at the time the Obelisk were created. Though he often struggles with doubts about himself and his place in the world, Thomas at least knows that he fits in well at Home.

- Life at Home
A curious, sharp, quick-thinking young dragon, Thomas is passionate about learning all he can about the world around him. Though he came to life already a mature dragon, and he estimates he would be around the same age as Home's older students, he feels angry that he missed out on time as a hatchling to learn and explore - and he feels he has a lot of catching up to do. A very intelligent dragon who excels academically, he's an absolute natural. The Earthshaker imbued the freshly-carved Obelisk with many different elements to ease their acceptance into wider Sornieth, and although Thomas was born with Lightning elemental allegiance, it's hard to deny he's Earth-born. He's always had a deep love for history and the stories of the past, and is a natural archaeologist. Specializing in dating, he has an intuitive, almost instinctive, eye for fossils and rocks, and quickly distinguished himself as a brilliant archaeologist.

- Relationships
Typically a pleasant and likeable dragon, Thomas makes friends easily but can be hard to grow truly close with. He is closest with his siblings, and although he can sometimes get annoyed with his brother Persy's fiery personality and his sister Vision's ambition can wear him down (and they can get equally annoyed by Thomas' seemingly apathetic personality), the trio truly care for and love each other. Thomas struggles more with the nature of their breed than his siblings, which can be a cause for disagreements. Indeed, aside from his siblings, he tends to avoid the other Obelisk at Home. His best friend, Araqiel, is a fellow historian, and Thomas has learned most of what he knows about Sornieth during his attempts to convince his friend to leave the house every once in a while. He is close with the other dragons in his Hall, especially fellow archeology students Negasi and Canaan, and looks to professor Jude as a trusted mentor. A dragon who is naturally inclined to loneliness, Thomas tends to rely on his friends more than most.

- Personality
A dragon who is excellent at thinking outside the box and whose natural curiosity and passion quickly endears him to others, most dragons at Home find Thomas to be bright and likeable. Crafty and excellent at thinking on his feet, he's proven himself a valuable friend to his archaeologist friends more than once. Though he often puts up a front of cheerfulness and describes himself as a generally happy dragon, Thomas struggles greatly with the purpose of his breed. The Obelisk were created with a purpose to help fix Sornieth's ills, and Thomas can't help but resent the fact that himself and the other Obelisk were given an impossible task. He chose to forgo the Earthshaker's intent for him altogether, choosing to become the best archaeologist he could be instead (although Vision would argue that his goal, in which Thomas improves Sornieth in his own way, is nevertheless still fulfilling this purpose). Regardless, he prefers to keep himself busy, and can usually be found occupying himself with study or exploration. Not great at sitting still or keeping himself out of trouble, Thomas is known around Home as a clever, knowledgeable dragon who will probably know all the best ways to sneak yourself into a closed dig site if you ask him nicely enough.

STONESHAPE OBSIDIAN One of the most common Stoneshapes for first generation Obelisks, obsidian is associated with a rational, grounded personality and dragons especially connected with their Earth heritage. Its Earthy connotations also mean that many dragons consider Obelisks with Obsidian Stoneshapes to carry special missions and purposes from the Earthshaker, which is something Thomas pretends he doesn't know about.
