Priscus

Priscus arrived upon the advent of the Obelisk species' birth alongside her mate Calanthe, and their child, Metrodora. The three of them were salvaged from the depths of the earth, huddled together as if the Earthshaker himself had declared them family. Priscus was the first of them to awaken, though she was not the dragon her clan anticipated. Despite being among the youngest of the core clan's dragons, Priscus meshed with them perfectly the moment she broke from her carnelian shell. As if imparted with the wisdom of earth itself, there is nothing Priscus loves more than the pursuit of knowledge. Fascinated by the new world around her, Priscus sought to breathe it in and understand as much of its wonders as she possibly could.

While knowledgeable in the likes of geology, biology, metalsmithing, alchemy, and language, nothing captured her attention the way magic did. Priscus, though among the first generation of Obelisks, never felt the same connection to the Earthshaker that many of her brethren did. She has been blessed since creation with unusually powerful strengths over freshwater, rain, and what is captured in all water. She personally believes that the presence of the Tidelord from deep within the earth impacted her creation and imbued her with the unique ability to communicate through her element. As such, Priscus has a natural inclination to what she thinks of as "reading the water". By analyzing the organic and inorganic components in any sample of water, she is able to divine meaning with startling accuracy. She often tells the fate of others by asking them to collect a sample from their nearest stream by-claw before they pay her a visit.

Shamira in particular has taken a fascination to this gift, hoping Priscus may someday reveal the location of her patron deity, but such is still beyond the likes of a powerful mortal. Priscus is also able to alter the weather by calling upon storms, yet the strongest she has been able to conjure is a heavy rainstorm. She is sometimes called upon by her leader to combat the effects of drought throughout all eleven territories, though Priscus currently lacks the strength to fully mitigate their effects. This was a power Priscus developed early, and an object of fascination to the likes of the Merchants of the Southern Icefield and the Pestilent Vagabonds.

In an attempt to aid as many clans as possible, Priscus has taken to the art of enchantment.

But despite her goodwill and myriad abilities, Priscus's personality is often what puts a barrier between her and other dragons. The means in which she learned to communicate were through pollical diplomacy between clans, leaving her inequipped to handle casual conversation at best, and at worst abrasive and ingenuine
