The Dustcarve Dig was successful, revealing a never-before seen breed to Sorneith. However, some statues of obelisks were left inactivated, so some dragons that contributed were allowed to take them to their home clans. Mariana was called to help August carry one statue back to Shade's clan, in which the statue absorbed some of Mariana's magic on the way back. When they returned to the clan, the statue awakened, revealing a rather curious obelisk underneath, tasked with protecting Sorneith from an unknown threat. Mariana sees him as somewhat of a child though, knowing that he absorbed some of her magic. Pylon is rather annoyed by her behavior, but she continues to dote on him, despite his complaints.
