Lightning flashed across the sky, a loud boom of thunder following soon after. Strife lets out a sigh, watching the rain as it pounded against the ground, puddles forming on the ground from the onslaught. He glanced down and scratched something onto a piece of paper. A slow exhale of breath as the lightning flashed in front of his den again, and he hunched over to scribble more onto the paper in his paws. “If we could just get better with our agility, it’d be so much easier to train the newbies…” he mumbled. He glanced up again, letting the rain work over his harsh edges and relax him. He let out a slight hum, the gears whirling in his mind. “I wonder if I could ask the Leo to use their lightning bolts for training…I bet that’d get the newbies moving…” A deep rumble sounded behind him, a flash of beautiful purple scales settling next to him. “Is it really such a good idea to chuck lightning at the new recruits?” Asciano cocked his head at the obelisk, who hummed back. “Nah. It’s how I learned. My Crackling Leo took a lot of patience to bond with. I had to learn to be fast.” Strife scrutinized the imperial. “You could do well with some agility training as well.” A sharp grin split his face. “Want me to get Aion to start training?” Asciano’s wings furl against his back.

“I would rather not, thank you. I believe I’m fairly talented at dodging the creature in the coliseum.” Strife laughed, another bolt of lightning causing his face to fall into shadow. “Yeah, you’re better than most. Still not as good as I am.” He cocked his head and smiled softer, before turning his attention back to the sky. The lightning had always calmed the storm of thoughts that swirled around in his head. Asciano followed his gaze. “The lightning can be beautiful, don’t you agree? I suppose I understand why the thunder scares the hatchlings, but my statement stands. The storms are beautiful, despite their nature.” Strife hummed in agreement. “It helps me think. ‘S why I come out here for new training regimens.” Asciano gave a crooked grin. “Well then, let’s see how well the lightning inspires you.” The imperial moved to stand on his paws and cocked his head toward the rain-filled training grounds. “Let me see those new agility techniques you want to implement.” Strife stood and stretched his wings out. “You’re not gonna be able to lay a claw on me!”
