Hurleigh

When Hurleigh hatched, he found himself alone in the Driftwood Drag. The little gaoler fended for himself in the Tangled Wood, his strong instincts allowing him to do well in his first few weeks of life until he came across a strange little dragon that looked like a rose...
The young dragon found himself receiving a stern talking-to when he pounced on the odd new creature. It was certainly no good to eat with all those spikes! Hurleigh's excitement rubbed off on the old veilspun and the two played together the rest of the day. And the next. And the day after that. The child was growing on the old man and the old man seemed to be growing on Hurleigh, too.
In what seemed to be no time at all, the two of them had been taking care of eachother for weeks.
