Biography
A tale of swamp monster
Alone. Judged. Mistreated. A monster. This was all I ever knew. Alone because of others’ fear. Judged because of my appearance. Mistreated because of others’ words. An awful monster, a swamp monster, contributing to everything I face and feel. I’ve wondered what it’d be like to be accepted by the others, but I don’t know if that will ever happen.
I never thought I’d ever get to see a kind reality, but something of the sort came about one day while I was hunting. The cries of a child, a hatchling, left abandoned. I wasn’t sure of the purpose of the hatchling being out here, but I still approached it with caution. After reaching the hatchling, I surveyed them and took in everything I could about them. I certainly couldn’t leave them here, they would never survive in this part of Sorneith. I juggled them into my hold, not daring to set down my pearl or do anything else with it, and set off for my home. I was now a dad, and I would do my best to raise this hatchling.
After years with my adopted hatchling, I convinced them to join me in finding a clan and it didn’t take long to find one either. The clan welcomed us with open arms and we settled into the sewers, finding it comfortable and a close replica of our old living quarters. Others soon joined us, abandoned hatchlings and dragons like me. It was a safe haven. It was home.
