Shouya

Shouya is a young adult dragon who has been living on his own in Tide's Edge since he was a teenager. He came to this town on his own, and though he won't speak much about his past, it is known that he doesn't have much outside of Tide's Edge to return to. He has made a comfortable home in Tide's Edge on his own, and runs the library in town. Though he rarely gets any business, he spends a lot of time alone in the library, reading and falling asleep over the books.

Shouya is a dragon who has been affected by the plague in Tide's Edge, though he is the oldest dragon to be affected. He was not born during the plague - he developed symptoms later. He is weak and constantly tired, often falling asleep in the middle of what he is doing, much to his dismay. He has been instructed by Clerica to avoid going outside unless it is absolutely necessary, at least until his strrength returns, but he finds it hard to follow this advice. At night, he finds himself drawn to the beaches, staring at the moon and feeling the tide pull towards him. Sometimes he swims out into the water - dangerous, in his weakened state, but he can't resist - and just stares up at the moon, waiting for something to happen. But it never does, and he comes back to the shore, tired and disoriented.
