There are two phrases that best describe Merlo's life philosophy: fight hard, and party hard. Proudly following family tradition, Merlo is a mercenary who specialises in combatting mimics of all kinds. She is proficient in wielding various clubs and axes, but is just as comfortable fighting without any weapon at all. Though snappers are not agile, her impressive strength and extra tough hide make her a force to be reckoned with, even unarmed. She fights both for work and for fun, as she's always up for a bit of friendly sparring against anyone who can match her skills.

After a successful job, Merlo loves to socialise at the most popular tavern or restaurant in whichever town her work takes her to. Loud, energetic, and extroverted, she always make a strong impression on any locals she meets, whether it be good or bad. The generous sort, she's been known to spend her wages buying rounds of drinks or food for every patron in the establishment, and for leaving large tips. On the other side of the coin, Merlo also has been known to get into her fair share of bar fights. She's rarely the instigator of these brawls however; there's just something about her attitude and presence that makes disagreeable and discontented dragons want to take her on. They soon learn that doing so is a big mistake on their part.

The one thing Merlo hates more than any other is being alone. This makes her life as a solo mercenary that much more difficult, which is perhaps why she relishes the moments she can spend surrounded by other dragons so much. Constantly having to travel to find new work means forming deeper connections and friendships is something she has to live without, though she still desperately longs for such connections. Perhaps one day she'll settle down in one place, or gain a travelling companion, but for now her journey is a lonely one.
