If you should die, make sure you take everyone else down with you.
Hostile Afflicted || Jewelry Maker
Before everything, before this nightmare, he was just a nomadic merchant. He wandered most of Sornieth, avoiding ex lovers and unhappy customers alike. He took pride in his craft, creating intricate and beautiful pieces with even the dreariest of gems. Even with his ghastly appearance, it was easy to make a pretty penny, always able to rake in a good amount of coin. Usually from selling to upscale young ladies that wanted to make a statement and gentlemen looking for a gift for some lover they thought was the "one" and never stopping to wonder why this merchant had never visited before.
He rarely stopped in the same clan twice, more because of his long line of exes rather than bad business. It just wasn't good business to have some dragon yelling and crying because he'd left them to wake to a cold bed.
But what had they expected? That he'd stay in some dinky little clan for the rest of his life, playing the part of an attentive spouse? Corrin would never let himself become trapped like that. It was better for all those involved if he kept to the road. Those that understood this and accepted it, those were the dragons he would revisit, those were the ones with warm beds that he gladly crawled right back into, bringing with him little gifts and stories of his travels.
But that was before. He didn't lead that sort of life anymore.
Corrin had just stopped for the night, showing off a lovely silver chain to a pretty, young coatl, when they heard screaming, and the ground started to rumble. Always the coward, he had turned and bolted, hoping to get ahead of whatever was happening. He heard the coatl scream out for help, begging him to return and help her, but he just kept running, trying to return to the safety of his birthplace.
Whatever was behind him, it had caught him before he could find someplace to hide. Unlike the others, he stayed awake the entire time. He was awake when moss and vines burnt through his skin, when vile smoke filled his lungs and burnt his eyes. Red seeped through his skin, dripping from open wounds that never seemed to fully heal. He couldn't remember how long or how far he'd wandering, stumbling through the wide expanse of the Scarred Wasteland before eventually he collapsed.
He was discovered by the reapers Spine and Flatline, and they carried him back to their clan. It was there that Weyr confirmed that Corrin was suffering from the same condition that Pestilence and Moribund had, and that it was best to move him into the Dead Zone.
Of course, Corrin was not happy to wake up and discover that he was forbidden from leaving. He tried many times to leave, but each time Pestilence was quick to stop and bring him back. He did, however, manage to destroy a part of Hallowed's garden, and is now restricted to staying in the Dead Zone until they agree to some other way of containing the Veilspun.
- Part of the dead zone lore
- probably hates being quarantined for what he is, wants to get out from under Pestilence's careful watch, doesn't know how dangerous it would be for him to leave.
- Has a track record for going out of his way to scare travelers and guests, has a lifetime ban from the nomad's lair for trying to kill Hallowed's garden and getting their familiars sick (got beat pretty bad by said imperial...still refuses to apologize and until then the ban won't be lifted)
- fights constantly with Pestilence, but the imperial is physically and mentally much stronger and he can never win.
- was a jerk before the Seedscar events.
