Leader? Well, yes, I suppose so. Though I greatly prefer to be reffered to as the head of the family. Yes, we are a family, a big one at that! Huh? Oh, no, you see - only one child of mine resides here. Some dragons have offspring, some don't. Some are related, most are not. Blood plays no role here. My mate and I, I suppose it started with us. It was a simple wish to create something new. Our first and only nest bore five eggs and we took it as a blessing from the Shadowbinder herself. Throughout the years, our children grew, most took flight and went to see the world. That is okay, we love them still. Then hatchlings started appearing. It is not an uncommon sight, a hatchling without its parents. Some wandered off into Tangled Wood, some we came across while exploring. In most cases, the parents could not be traced down. We took them in, all those hatchlings, who decided they wanted to stay with us. Our family keeps on growing. You can find all sorts of dragons here - of many different breeds and flights, talkative, shy, joyful, sad, warriors, inventors, dreamers. Some may find their loyalties shifting unto other Gods, or perhaps no God. Some may wish to leave this place and never return. Some may partake in questionable activities. Some may be in need of healing or simply of a home. We accept all, we offer our love to all who seek it. Stay here as long as you need, make some friends, make yourself at home. Huh? How can I trust you? How do I know you are not some kind of calamity? Well, one can never know, of course. But who am I to assume? Have you taken a look at my familiar? It is supposedly a cursed bat. It has been with me for as long as I can remember. In all my years, it has brought me nothing but blessings.  |
