"Well for starters, we'd already made it to the lightningy place before you noticed I was with you! AND YOU HAVE MORE EYES THAN I DO!" "Hey, we made it to the shifting expanse before I said anything about you hitching a ride", the skydancer shot back. His way of speaking kinda reminded her of the fae, a bit more monotone than you'd expect from their breed, but it she knew he was joking as much as she was. "So why'd you decide to tag along anyways? I can't imagine you hated the wispwillow grove that much." "It was a bit on the dark side for me," her golden eyes of the Lightweaver glistening brightly under the occasional sunbeams that cut through the canopies of the viridian labyrinth, "but you're right. You just seemed, I dunno... inviting, I guess." "That's a new one." He carried on with the same coldness as usual, but it was clear the skydancer was confused, and maybe a little flattered. "Other dragons tend not to see me that way. Especially not others of my kind." "Well, you seemed earnest. In a way I haven't seen since I met the one I'm looking for." "You're looking for someone?" "The first glitched child I'd ever encountered." This was the first time she'd seen every one of his eyes widen. |
