ATAVUS, THE SWIFT...
Atavus arrived in the clan when he was just a hatchling. He quickly became friends with Radio and November, who have stayed with him throughout all the years. Many years ago, they crossed over to the Southern Icefields together in search of a new home. As one of the fastest dragons in the clan, Atavus was seen only as a purple blue while growing up. His swiftness only grew with time. Radio was able to put his speed to good use by asking him to be the clan's messenger. Groups of Beastclans threatened their clan several times in the past. At these times, Atavus would work for Kodachi as his messenger on the battlefield. His swift wings are too fast for the enemy to chase after, making him perfect for the job. It was often risky to do this, but Atavus is something of a genius in the field of fleeing. The only time he got into trouble was when he ran across a pack of Umbra Wolves. Their speed and stealth confused him as they sped through the trees, scratching at his legs and eyes. Niiloi was scouting nearby and managed to rescue him in time, much to Atavus' humiliation. Atavus secretly grew an inferiority complex after seeing Niiloi's own speed and stealth skills, which caused him to be somewhat hostile towards his saviour. |

SOUTHERN SKYWAY
RESPITE AND TRADE STATION |
|
The clan has been living in the Southern Icefields for several years now. A large respite station has formally been opened by the clan near the north-eastern coast. Atavus has found a role very suited to his extreme speed. With the help of Arkantos, he opened "Southern Courier Service" as a way help his fellow dragons and fly to his heart's content. |
SOUTHERN COURIER SERVICE
Originally it started with Atavus doing a few odd jobs for the dragons visiting the station. The jobs consisted of passing small items or notes to friends or family members in neighboring areas -- in exchange for food or tools of course. Another Spiral joined the clan some time ago. His name is Niiloi, and his speed rivals that of Atavus. They are both very competitive and keep trying to outdo the other, which leads to quite a few arguments. When Atavus finally decided to create his own delivery business, Niiloi didn't let him have all the glory. Despite their differences, they really were kindred spirits. Niiloi and Atavus became partners and have been flying all over the icy lands ever since. They don't service the entire Icefields, but they can effectively cover a quarter of the entire landmass with their schedule. Other areas have their own mail systems, so that parcels from Southern Skyway can be delivered to one of them if they need to go further. Atavus has been talking about setting up a branch location near the Fortress of Ends, but even his Will 'o Ember won't keep him warm enough to fly there. Perhaps creating a service point on the mainland is a better idea...
