Curiosity killed the cat, but satisfaction brought it back. Coeus is a simple student following his tutor, Ronder, down into the depths of the Currents to continue his learning and to put it into practice. Rationality would say to find another tutor to learn from, but something keeps drawing Coeus to listen to the old Guardian's teachings and block out everyone else's. He can't describe it himself, but he feels as though he must stick with him for as long as possible, more than just for lessons.

Learning from the best doesn't mean his own creations are any good, for being a perfectionist makes him all the more criticising of himself, often resulting in losing his temper and destroying his work. It's a vice he knows he has, but he's doing his best to restrain himself. He doesn't plan to do anything important for dragonkind with his engineering, he just wishes to learn.
