The Rejected
"Vampires and demons alike tossed me aside. They called me weak. I'll show them...I'll show them all! They'll rue the day they ever rejected me!"
A warrior like no other, nobody knows this bringer of death's real name. Due to his pitch black armor and equally dark world, they only refer to him as "Darklord". He's feared by vampires and demons alike, and is the real threat to both kingdoms.
Once a kind and humble paladin, Darklord's real name was Exa Zato, and he wanted to help bring the kingdoms together. He was the only one at the time who thought that vampires and demons should co-exist in harmony, but the royal families of both kingdoms reviled him and threw him out, threatening that if he dared step foot into their kingdoms again, he'd be executed on the spot. Realizing that he'd not bring the two together, Exa responded to both with a simple "You'll regret this" before leaving.
During the first war, Exa was meeting with some outsiders from both kingdoms, and they befriended him, agreeing that the two families had no reason to go to war. They told him of how they wanted to bring them together, but were informed of Exa's just attempting to do so, only to be kicked out and ordered to never return. They grew angry at this and wanted to help him attempt again, but the sudden arrival of troops from both sides interrupted them and immediately killed everyone in sight...Except Exa, who did his best to defend his comrades, but was overwhelmed by the armies' ever growing anger. He tried to use his light magic to calm them down, but due to his magic still needing work, failed and was mocked for being "weak".
The ongoing fight and continuous mocking began to anger Exa, and upon seeing his friends' bodies on the ground, trampled on like doormats, caused him to unleash a sudden burst of darkness, scattering the armies before he vanished.
Exa ventured around the kingdoms' outskirts, his anger taking control of him, and eventually destroyed parts of the neighborhoods from outside, making both families think that they were getting revenge for their losses. Because of the destruction, other vile beings learned about both kingdoms, and were attracted to the pricless treasures inside. Such beings include the Scizzorshark Bandits in Demonius and Clampjaw Monsters in the Kingdom of Vampirion. Both groups of beasts made things more difficult for citizens to live peacefully, and in turn made the families recruit more soldiers to not only protect the kingdom from each other, but from these pests. The families didn't even think that the one they sent away could be the cause of these sudden intrusions, and Exa delighted in tormenting them even more.
Years pass, and Exa finally finds a place to call home. The area was covered in fog and surrounded by skeletons and remains of armor from previous wars. Despite the spooky appearance, Exa found it suitable for himself and his future army. As he ventured further, he noticed that there was already a large castle looming above everything. The outside was covered in dirt and blood stains, and many scratches ripped through its brick walls, but otherwise, it was perfect.
The inside was in worse shape than the outside, and smelled like rot, but even that didn't keep Exa from smiling with content. To him, this was where Death himself lived, and he was going to become the very thing both armies feared. He was going to become Death, and bring them both down.
More time passes, and Exa's light magic is turned into dark magic from studying in this darkened palace. He became familiar with many dark spells, but none of them fascinated him more than the ability to summon dark creatures and necromancers to do his work for him. His first spells involved summoning small creatures, such as imps and bats, but he eventually became strong enough to summon his first necromancer, Black, of whom still remains a loyal servant.
His powers grow even stronger, and Exa eventually summons a sorceress named Senzo. Senzo was enchanting to some, and terrifying to others. She fell for Exa right away, and the two became a couple. Exa knew that she would be helpful for his cause, and asked if she'd be able to spy on the vampires and demons for him while acting like she's on their respective sides. She agreed, and traveled to both kingdoms, tricking the kings into thinking she's working for them, before returning to her beloved and giving him the information she gained.
When the second war breaks out, Exa watches from his kingdom as soldiers from both sides fall, and orders Black to bring back the ones who he deems worthy. These soldiers then become servants of his, and remain in Voidominion until the time is right.
It's been said that once an Avatar defeats either the Vampire or Demon King in battle, Darklord himself will challenge them to a duel...And everything is at stake. If they fall, their life in their kingdom is over, and Darklord will be standing over them as he takes their latest prize - a mighty weapon from the King they defeated - before leaving them alone.
Demon King: Pathetic, weak, useless. I hate him with such a burning passion that his fires would be steam in comparison!
King of Vampires: Snobby, stuck up, a complete idiot. His precious sword is nothing compared to my Deathbringer...And I don't care if it's a living being!
My beloved: Beautiful, mesmerizing, enchanting...I love everything about her, and I won't forget when I saw her face up close. I'll never let anything happen to her.
This suck up: Annoying, clingy, very loyal. I can't stand him, but his powers of necromancy serve me well. I just wish he'd stop talking to me, especially when he's praising me for every little thing.
My former self: FORGET THE PAST AND EMBRACE THE NOW! I was a fool to cling to the light, and now I have the ultimate power!
This Child: Spawn of both demon and vampire, yet relatable...They and I wanted the same thing...But now, I don't want peace between the two kingdoms...I WANT THEM IN PIECES!

finally, a shoutout to darklord! i think my favourite part is the game quotes you've written out for him!! there's something so fun about being able to read what would be the action lines in a game; it's one of those things that i always love looking at in actual games i play, since there's often lots of cool details put into them, so i also really enjoyed being able to look at it for darklord! all the ones from the battle are my favourites, i really like that you put the thought into the different lines for many different alternatives in the gameplay! it's those little things that can really make the lore unique and compelling i think, as it sets it apart from non-video game universes! ^^
