BACKSTORY Plague spent his early life living with his mother and father. However, when he was 10, Plague's father was hit by a train that had recently been built. He was still alive and may have been able to survive if treated properly. However, the doctor that treated him was a sham and Plague's father died from malpractice. After his father's passing, the church gave Plague's family the dagger his father had used in religious rituals. He became far more reserved after this for several years, only talking to his mother and his friend, Alfred. By the time he was 14, Plague was more open and social again as well as happy. However, this wouldn't last long as a strain of tuberculosis hit the town and his mother fell ill. As she lay on her deathbed, Plague's mother gave him her wedding ring. Because he never got tuberculosis despite his exposure and low constitution, Plague strongly believed that it was the doing of his mother's wedding ring. After her passing, he was adopted by Alfred's family. After losing both of his parents, Plague decided to become a doctor so that he could save other from the sorrow he felt as a child. Successfully getting his degree, he quickly realized that no one trusted him due to his sickly features and low constitution. So, he hid his face and changed his name to Plague, recommended to him by Alfred on the basis that it would be turning the word into something positive, though he personally only liked the juxtaposition and the fact that his best friend had suggested it. He left home and became a traveling doctor, bringing the ring and diamond dagger with him. | x |
