ABOUT.
Honour is all very fine and good, but if it stands in the way of protecting his family and ensuring their safety, Heracles won't give second thought to it.

Violence is avoided where possible, of course. He won't play dirty unless there's a need to. Nyx, his mate and fellow clan leader, is more of a fighter than he is, though the two are in agreement when it comes to keeping the peace. While she prowls the night keeping the clan safe from Plaguebringer-knows-what, Heracles is in charge of day-to-day affairs. More importantly, he ensures that grievances and quarrels are resolved peacefully, the food and treasure stocks are always well kept, and everyone is contented.

It had been his idea to hire the Bloodworm Guard and most of the warriors; it was on his word that the Realmwalkers were taken in when it became clear that both him and Nyx could not protect the growing clan alone.

If you mistake his gentle, well-meaning demeanour for weakness, you have already made a fatal mistake. He is not soft. Behind that kind gaze of his lies steel and brimstone. Little is known of his past, but from the scars on his flanks and wings and back, the deliberate care in which he carries himself and the pride in his stance, he's been through some of the worst that Sorineth has to offer.

The knowledge that Nyx has secrets is a given; she's an enigma to most of the clan members and she's always solemn and silent. Heracles' secrets, however, are buried deep beneath carefully guarded layers of kindness and deceptive openness, that no one else knows they're there at all. Not even his own mate.

If you take nothing away from this, at least heed this warning: Heracles is far more capable than he lets on. He may be more of a gentle giant than a ruthless killer (you should see him around the hatchlings), but those who have stayed in the clan longer than most know that he can and will defend the clan single-handedly if he must.

And if you think honour is the only code that binds this warrior, you had better think again.
