He had soared... for ages it seemed. Wings tired, stomach growling, he knew he couldn’t go on for much longer. He hasn’t seen land for days, much less any trace or call of someone looking for him. He knew it was too much to hope for. He was the forgotten one, the light that turned to shadow. The one who’s brightness had been fading and fading over time until... it was extinguished.
He believed that was a bit overdramatic, but he left anyways. And he had no plans of returning for a vacation anytime soon. And now he was here, in the middle of nowhere. And that’s where he ultimately dropped out of the sky, dipped into the water, and sank, lower than even the bravest Water dragons feared to go. For centuries, they inhabited the bottom of the ocean. Living off what they could - they didn't need much. Fear was enough. When they were much, much younger, they would frighten their classmates. Eventually to the point where they earned their name, Akuma. It gave them energy, to hear the screams... but it also made them a little lonely. In order to try to be more "social" and "understand other dragons better", they would use their ability to walk into and alter whatever things others saw when they slept. This is how they kept themselves updated with the world, while staying miles beneath it at the same time. "You've got to stop." A voice said one night, while Akuma was in another dragon's dreams. Akuma turned around. A Nocturne was floating there, its gaze sharp, yet gentle. "Who are you." Akuma growled. They had always been taught to not trust anyone - and they had reasons to. "Amaterasu. Guardian of Dreams." The Nocturne said. "So, you've come to tell me to stop... what? Making sure dragons snap back to reality?" Akuma snapped. |
