Arakiba is a quiet dragon, less in the sense that she doesn't have the confidence to speak and more in the sense that she is physically unable to do so. As a hatchling, she mistakenly consumed a fire runestone from her clan's collection, and that runestone has remained lodged in her system ever since, heating her up from the inside as it was once intended to do for a hearth. She is remarkably resilient and has suffered no serious long-term affects, but she is constantly in danger of spitting sparks and overheating from the fire magic that courses through her body. She communicates mostly with gestures and wobbly writing, though she is also adept at signing and will gladly do so should she ever encounter another dragon who knows how. She prefers to spend time in the water whenever possible, which prevents her from casting off embers unintentionally. She travels constantly to try and find a solution for her magical woes, and she hopes that returning to the land of her birth to seek the aid of the Gladekeeper will help her finally return to normalcy. As such, she's relatively strong and has a lot of stamina.

She is a very cautious dragon who struggles to balance her need to discover a solution with her fear of causing harm to the places she travels through. She has an incredible fascination with plants and books but cannot enjoy much of either on account of her fiery curse.
