Sky has put a lot of effort in to calming his busy mind, to become a better seer. It's not a talent Spirals usually possess, having too much energy to focus and remain still for an extended period, but Sky feels it is his calling and tries his best.

He had learnt to stop and be aware as a child, helping his mute brother, Alencon. If Sky raced off playing with his sister, Alencon could be easily left behind and forgotten. The few times that had happened when they were growing up together, Sky hated himself for it, and always made sure to keep part of his mind on his brother.

Sky sat with him, quietly, for as long as he could manage, adding a few more minutes each time. Alencon would reward him after a time of extended stillness by pointing to something Sky would not have noticed, as he was concentrating too hard on not doing anything at all. Alencon always had an eye for detail, and endless patience. He would gesture to shy wildlife that had emerged in the silence, or another kind of natural, rare beauty Sky wouldn't have the opportunity to see before.

Such experiences sufficiently distracted him and gave him cause to keep his silence, and so his technique grew.

He is now under the wing of Interval, an Imperial accomplished in the art of scrying, who considered Sky worthy enough, and dedicated enough, to be his apprentice.
