Reaper called out to the people passing in front of the stall where she worked, selling items she found, stole, or made. "Check out our newest addition, a genuine diamond necklace made by none other than the finest craftsmen and craftswoman known to dragonkind!" She picked up the necklace, not noticing the shimmering grey sheen they suddenly got.
She held the necklace for the people to see. They oohed and ahhed, but always walked on with strange glances towards Reaper.
Then Reaper's Fae assistant tapped on her arm. "Um, Reaper, look at your arm..." he said.
Reaper looked at her arm, and her eyes widened in shock. Her bright, rainbow-like scales were turning a dull blue-grey. She quickly pulled her cape over her arm to cover it up. Her assistant's frills drooped in fear.
Over the next few days, the grey-ish scales spread further and further. Reaper became extremely sick.
At the end, her eyes would not stop shedding tears- but these tears were a goopy, slimey black liquid, that looked like the Shademom's strange barf or whatever it is.

Eventually, the pain from her sickness stopped, but she awoke to see something terrible had happened: everyone she had been near had also turned grey and died. Struck by a wave of horrible sadness, guilt, and anger, she wrapped blindfolds around her eyes and muzzle and threw a hood on. She could not see, but she ran outside and lurched into the air anyways.

Since then, she's become a traumatized, gloomy creature who hates everything to do with diamonds, necklaces, and merchants. Faes make her even more sad. However, inside her still, somewhere deep, is a happy and cheerful Mirror, if only she could find a way to learn how to forget the trauma of before and find true friends.

She binds her face with cloth to try and stop the tear-like goo, but it does not work, and now she only huddles in the shadows covering her face and scales with her cape and hopes to remain unnoticed.
