"Right this way," the dragon leading you smiles as you walk through the village, heading towards the eastern side. You're a dragon hatchling, shaking slightly...as if you're traumatized by something. There are dragons everywhere, they seem so relaxed in each other's company that it takes you a moment to realize they're all different species, different colours, different flights, different personalities... You wonder how they all got here, in this hidden realm no outsider can seem to find. They told you it was located under the water, but how could you be standing beneath the sun in the clearing of a large forest if you're below the ground level? "It's magic," you look up to see your guide watching you. "Aurea Torrenti's land is enchanted." The dragon laughs at your confused expression. You jump as a crate suddenly drops beside you, breaking apart. "Ack!" A small hatchling tries to catch it with no luck. "Kairo!" Your guide exclaims. "Sorry!" A toy mouse rolls out from behind the barrels sitting beside the house that the crate fell off of, finding its way to Kairo's talons. You examine the hatchling more closely now. It picks up the mouse with a wilted expression on its face. Kairo is smaller than yourself by a good bit, with large turquoise eyes and dark scleras. His scales are like obsidian shot through with cyan-coloured circuit shapes, and he has rather large ears for a spiral. The hatchling looks up and sees you staring at him. "Hi," he says, tilting his head. "I heard there was a new hatchling in town." "Hello," you breathe out. It's all so new. Why are these dragons so friendly? Is it an act? Or have you finally found your forever home..? "We'd best get to the nursery before Hachimitsu sends off a search party." Your guide says, looking at the sun now sinking in the sky. Kairo joins you and your guide as you continue your walk towards the hatchery, the two dragons having a conversation along the way. You notice that Kairo doesn't speak like a normal hatchling, but rather as if he's been around for longer than yourself. But how could that be? He looks younger than you, and would surely be an adult now if he didn't. He catches you watching him. "Surely you've figured it out by now?" You shake your head, surprised. "I'm eternally youthful." Your eyes widen. Of course! You'd read about eternally youthful dragons before. They're extremely rare beings, hatchlings who never age. They generally stop growing at around 5 days old, when their bodies are fully developed and ready to enter adulthood. Except these ones never do; They're stuck in the same state forever, only changing if their bodies are destroyed. "We're here!" Your guide announces. They open the door and you follow them as they enter the building. "There you are!" A Gaoler with white, yellow-spotted fur bounds towards you. She has turquoise eyes and a Chipskink sitting on her head, its silky tail and scaly legs curled around her horns like a sloth. The Gaoler smiles warmly at you. "Meet Hachimitsu, the mother of our clan." Your guide says. You look around the room. A silver Pearlcatcher and her Agol are entering through a door on one of the walls, followed by a young peach-coloured Skydancer. There are multiple large cushions arranged in one corner where a light purple Snapper is reading to a couple of hatchlings and their familiars. Another pair of hatchlings are wrestling on a rug closer to us, while a third hatchling is drawing on a sheet of parchment. Hachimitsu leads you towards the area with the cushions. "This is Caligo. She's the hatchling teacher." The Snapper smiles and you realize there's a Blackwing Croaker sleeping on her tail. The Gaoler then motions to the Pearlcatcher and Skydancer. "The grumpy-looking Pearlcatcher is Tsuki," the silver dragon looks up suddenly and shoots Hachimitsu an offended look. "Don't worry, she's really a sweetheart!" She laughs, then continues. "The Skydancer is our assistant, Momo." The peach-coloured dragon smiles. Hachimitsu then brings you to an unoccupied cushion. "This is your bed." "Thank you," you say as you step over and lay on the cushion. "This is the softest pillow I have ever felt!" you gasp, surprised. "I'm glad you think so!" Hachimitsu beams. She fills you in on a couple of things about the clan before leaving to help a hatchling get a snack from an icebox. After a moment you look around, realizing that Kairo disappeared. You spot him laying on a cushion in the window near the entrance to the cave. You sigh and rollover, eventually falling asleep. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx |
 Description Let's start this off with the facts: He's sparky. What I mean by 'sparky' is; Kind of feisty, but more... Timid. If he's angry, it's more like a sparking wire than the flame most dragons are. Come to think of it, he's really just a curious, timid bolt of lightning. Don't get me wrong though, he's also kind of chaotic. But who could hate that face? Sadly I had to sell my Spirit Of The Arcane familiar to get the Scroll Of Eternal Youth, but I think making this boy my first permababy was was worth it.
