The Glass-Wall City
You walk into a cafe, the smell of fresh brewed coffee fills the air and warms you to the core. The wall behind the counter was lined with different syrups and grounds used in the coffee, but the wall opposite of that was glass. You place your order and take a seat next to the glass wall with a view of the ocean, several feet below the surface. Music played softly in the cafe, but rumor was the music was kept at a low volume whenever the violinist outside played her music.
You waited for your name to be called, but watched out the window of thick glass, seeing fish swim by, sharks lurk, the leviathan a few miles out slept soundly.
It was mystifying yet terrifying all at once. This half of the city was underwater. Protected only by a giant, 8 inch thick dome reinforced by magic from the mages that built it in the first place. Everyday, these people live so close to danger, but they live so comfortably alongside it.
