Glassblowing may be an unusual profession, but Dimitra is proud through and through of her talent. What remarkable things she can make, what beautiful charms she can craft! If all the world were to turn their back on her for her love of glass, Dimitra would not care. To bring beauty into the world, you must be passionate about the process, and that is what makes Dimitra's work so gorgeous. Each filigree lantern, each spiralling chalice, each hovering orb is filled with care and precision, worked to perfection, and polished till the surface reflects the beam of a thousand stars. What makes Dimitra so skilled is her pride in what she can create. She knows that with patience, she has the power to make a masterpiece. While some frown upon her trade, saying a dragon as highborn as Dimitra should not waste her time with petty crafting, most admire her - and rightly so. Glassblowing is such delicate work; one slip up and a day's work is in shards. Not many dragons have the perseverance needed to succeed, and that is one of the reasons Dimitra is so respected. Dragons will pay thousands for such intricate ornaments as the ones she creates, and so she makes a high profit from trading and selling her creations. Lairs all over Sornieth are lit by glorious globes that came from none other than Dimitra's airy workshop, and each slender lantern does wonders for aesthetic. On occasion, Dimitra will find herself visiting a lair and smiling secretly as she passes beneath a glass chandelier or is lent a golden lamp to light her room, for she knows the work of her own skilled hands, and is proud of how far it has come.
➺ Most of Dimitra's creations are sold by Aeolus, a well known merchant who just happens to be her mate ➺ Dimitra helped craft many of the intricate lanterns that adorn the seaside town of Lanternlea Port ➺ She's actually quite rich, and glassblowing isn't so much a necessary job as a hobby that conveniently brings in extra money ➺ Her workshop sits overlooking the sea, for inspiration, and has lots of patterned or stained glass windows to let in beautiful shafts of light
