mad prophet. for most of his life, his Charge never manifested, and he always felt guilty and ashamed - until one day, a vision of a young mirror's promised future came upon him, and he swore he would not rest until he guided her away from that path, protected her from making that revelation into realty. what he lost to lateness, he makes up for with extreme enthusiasm and dedication to his Charge, to an unhealthy (and frankly unwanted) degree

ellenjane does her best to ignore him. she hates him, but could never bring herself to fully cast him away - even with his tendency to barge in on her meetings with important business partners ranting about the end of all days (for her). he spends his days wandering the tiers of the mango pirate canyon, dressed in tattered rags, occasionally getting mugged, trembling from old age and the fervor his prophecies leave him with, but never stopping to rest until his body physically cannot continue and he collapses into a sleepless void wracked with new premonitions to haunt him. none of his prophecies come true, outside that singular vision tied to his Charge, so he's generally brushed off by the residents of the canyon, tolerated as an old, confused but embarrassingly sincere and well-meaning guardian a little lost in the head, but not undeserving of a bowl of stew leftover from the fire
