Often dismissed by other mages for being 'weak', Alder is a calm, collected coatl whose single wish is to help others. True, his powers are far from glorious, but he is happy with them, and really that is all that matters. Alder is a plant mage, using his magic to grow all sorts of wonderful greenery. He has always felt most at home in a garden, where he is alone to practise his magic with the sweet trill of birdsong to sooth him while he works. Most of his time is spent taking care of the botanical gardens at Lanternlea Port, and as the head gardener it is his job to make sure each specimen of a plant (whether it be from the Behemoth or the Starwood Forest) is kept healthy.
In his spare time, Alder helps his beloved mate, Greentea, with her work. Greentea is a healer, and Alder enjoys growing herbs for her many concoctions. Whilst he enjoys the time spent with her working in her apothecary, Alder often has to step in and coax Greentea to take a break, as his hard-working often ends up working overtime.
His favourite thing to do is curl up with Greentea among the flowering rhododendrons sampled from the everbloom gardens, and simply sit together, watching the sun fade after a long day at work.

⬡ Alder particularly loves succulents and hanging plants, as they are easy to take care of and (in his opinion) have the prettiest flowers
⬡ He has a weird habit of giving names to his favourite houseplants
⬡ He is obsessed with taking care of Greentea - as a healer she often prioritises others over herself, and as a result, Alder often ends up giving her the love and attention she needs
⬡ Greentea is the only dragon he is particularly close to, and he tends to be more of introvert, preferring to sit with his plants rather than socialising
