Wasteland Survival


First established under the gaze of the Plaguebringer, many dragons had come and gone, family, friends, strangers even. For years, only a band of a hundred dragons stuck together, some scraping and battling for food and worth, others seeing themselves to the Mother's calling. It was never meant to last this long, the few that left were never cast in vain, but were honored greatly for their service and sacrifices for the betterment of the clan. For years they collected whatever means they felt was valuable, space was infinite for them to store, but places to rest and share were dire, leaving many hatchlings to be sent off shortly after reaching their adolescence.

Runelos had left to serve the Mother's call, leaving Poison to struggle with the clan by herself. Even in her fury, she knew when it was too much for her to handle, asking for the help among the others, asking they work together to see their survival at greater odds. Out of all the dragons that served the greatest, Lithium proved to not only have the great patience they needed, but the curiosity to look beyond the horizons where they could. Organizing some dragons to go out farther than the Wasteland, she was determined to find better means for them, something, anything that could break them free of the struggles they continued to endure. Showing great leadership, Poison stepped down, letting Lithium take control despite her Arcane-like influences.

In the end, it was for the better.

Relocation



One day, an answer came. An answer that would change how they could get away from the daily struggle to feed, to sleep, to endure the trials of the Wasteland. Patience persevered, Lithium was quick to call everyone to arms, gather their things, and prepare for a great move. As they did, she took it upon herself to journey with the scouts to see for herself where their answer hailed from.

Their answer came in the form of chatter from clans that lived in the Stormcatcher's domain, the Shifting Expanse, how there was a newly developed location boasting impressive technology, always looking to stay ahead and improve upon what is already in existence. Upon arrival, the location was still under construction, desperately seeking help to see the Goldensparc location to its completion. Discussions were had, and Lithium had solidified her clan's newfound home, including a means to survive, grow, and become far stronger than any Plague-dwelling dragon possible.

The clan was eager to move, space reserved for them to make their home. Little did they know that taking residency to Goldensparc would stir in some unforeseen benefits.



Thundering Foundation



Their clan became more than just a survivalist's outpost, embracing the Stormcatcher's offerings of knowledge that fueled their efforts. They survived, and as their reward to assisting in Goldenspac's completion was a permanent residency within it's vicinity. From a mere few dozen dragons, the clan boomed, growing quickly to a settlement, then in time, a fully functional city.

That what was known as Refuge remained, the city built to have it all when they once had nothing. Because of their residency, there then pressed a new way of living, biomechanical enhancements. With much discussion with a more formally organized council, The Assembly Line was born, where Poison would see charge to it, and ever since then, the Assembly Line has trickled down influences into the day-to-day life of Refuge's civilians, from offering medical enhancements, to weapons, to quality-of-life improvements.

Refuge now thrives, almost too much as overpopulation has driven the city to accept selective residency, usually taking in new dragons based on its needs. While rare, some dragons have moved away, opening up room for new dragons to take their place.

Not a single day goes by though, where those that lived in the Wasteland, remember those struggling days, and now can look at their future with much greater satisfaction of what their lives are really all about.
