Nix

Some alchemists are serious, studious types, who study the secrets of creation, and strive to turn lead to gold, dross to value, ignorance to knowledge.

And then, there’s Nix.

Nix is a cackling dervish who entertains the clan’s hatchlings with the ongoing experiment-game “Will It Melt?” The answer to which is almost inevitably ‘yes’ - other than when she’s playfully dangling a giggling hatchling over the cauldron - but the process of arriving at that answer is ceaselessly fascinating, involving as it does brightly coloured bubbling liquids, hissing gasses, vivid dancing flames, and the odd explosion for no apparent reason (even more oddly, never occurring anywhere near the hatchlings. It's almost as if they aren't as accidental as they seem.)

Some of the clan wish she took life a bit more seriously. Because what would she be capable of then? (Others think perhaps it’s for the best she doesn’t, for much the same reason.) Cheerfully oblivious, Nix continues to live her best life, filled with strange concoctions and interesting mayhem.
