About
Aliases: "Hocus"
Pronouns: He/Him
Personality: Cunning, Daring, Forgetful
Whether it means participating in daring acts or testing his luck on a sleeve of cards, Hocus is a gambler with everything. Relying heavily on his "mind reflection" abilities, Hocus hardly loses a bet. As a result, the young Pearlcatcher festered and fed an addiction of taking risks, not heeding the warnings of possible consequences. After years of causing himself and others trouble, Hocus has developed various cunning tricks and tactics. He is fully aware of his limits and understands the repercussions that line his abilities (although, this hardly stops him from overstepping boundaries).
When it comes to socialising with others, Hocus often has a hard time holding a conversation. He's mouthy and sometimes falsely perceived as naive. Despite his poor facial memory, he hardly ever forgets the name of those he truly respects.
Abilities and Limitations:
*
Mind Reflection
Like all Mystic Minds Ice dragons, Hocus is capable of using surface reflections to manipulate a dragon's memories. He often uses his precious pearl as the "mirror into minds."
After using Mind Reflection, Hocus usually feels fatigue and dizziness. He also has a limited amount of time to manipulate a dragon's memory; his maximum time is 30 minutes.
*
Ice Ring
When overwhelmed, Hocus sometimes loses control of his magic, which often leads to his creation of an Ice Ring. The Ring is a barrier of energy that is expelled from the dragon's body, and is strong enough to knock a Snapper down.
The recoil of this ability exhausts the user's energy levels, sometimes leaving them unconscious for hours afterwards.
*
Frost Storm
Hocus can send a blast of ice crystals forward at a target. Upon impact, the crystals shatter and transform into snow. The area where the crystals land leaves a lingering, freezing effect.
Hocus is incapable of directing the crystals once they are launched. The crystals do not hone in on the target, and only follow a straight line. He is also unable to use this ability while fully submerged in water.
After summoning Frost Storm, Hocus' movements significantly slow; his usually graceful motions become sluggish. This moment of vulnerability lasts for a short period of time.
