Teacher of the Clan
Origin story found here. Terra is one of the oldest members of Vixen's Clan. She joined when the clan was very small and new, just beginning their life in the Crystalpine Reaches. She has long been the Teacher of the clan, and many of the clan-members both new and old grew up with her teachings and guidance. She can come off rather strict but she doesn't mean to be. She is certainly patient and knowledgeable but focuses so heavily on helping hatchlings prepare for the world that she can be a little harsh. But all who grew up listening to her know she is well-meaning and truly cares about her role in the clan. She will gladly talk with any student, current or past, about whatever is on their mind. Because of her length of residence in the clan and due to her important and necessary role, she has a high status within Vixen's Clan. She is highly respected and recognized by all other clan-members, especially since most either grew up with her guidance or had their hatchlings raised through her teachings. Vixen, particularly, is very grateful to her and despite her busy schedule will still make time to visit her and listen to any comments or criticisms she may have. She takes her words and thoughts seriously and implements change often with Terra's help. After many years of waiting and deliberating, she finally chose Firefly as her tertiary gene. Terra had always loved her moth-y look and didn't think her tertiary would allow any complementing gene. But eventually such a gene became available and she decided to go for it. She's not one for vanity or beauty in general, but she had always wished that she could be fully gened comfortably. Finally, that has come true and she feels very content. Terra is a proud Arcanite and has never lived in a different region. She is not religious to the Arcanist, per say, but she does have a lot of pride and love for Arcane and is easily in touch with the magical energies that surround the region. Relationships: Terra has had several mates over her lifetime, as she is one of the older dragons of Sornieth. Before joining Vixen's Clan, she bred with two different dragons: Iwatobi, an Arcane Tundra and Haru, a Shadow Tundra. Once she joined the clan, she had a short fling with the then-clan-member Starstruck, an Ice Pearlcatcher. She laid a couple nests with him. But like her former mates, he too eventually left to serve a deity. Terra also had an early relationship with Moss, an Ice Tundra and the Beta of this clan. He was actually her first student, which others might find weird, but their relationship was solid. In the end, however, they both realized that their love for the other was definitely more platonic than romantic. She was also shortly courted by both Jhaspire, a Light Skydancer, and Tyrix, a Wind Fae, but by then knew herself rather well and concluded that she is aromantic and wouldn't be the kind of mate they sought. So now she is great friends with all of them and still enjoys long conversations with Moss in particular. Then one day, a new Fae joined the clan: Tagno, from the Earth region. He was much like her--a guidance counselor that cared deeply for those he advised. He was a lovely asset to the clan and they worked together fantastically as a team. With her as the Teacher and him as the Guidance Counselor, the hatchlings were sure to grow up strong and supported. Through that teamwork, Terra realized she rather enjoyed him and their bond together, even though it could never be romantic. That aspect didn't bother him and they gladly accepted one another as mates. Another strong relationship Terra once had was with Cobweb, a Shadow Ridgeback. She was a hatchling in the clan when Terra had joined and thus was one of her first students (alongside Moss). Cobweb was a bold and fussy dragon that gave her a hard time but she always had patience for the more challenging students and put her in her place. The Ridgeback resented her at first for this, but once she reached adulthood she actually became really good friends with Terra. The two even worked together in a Coliseum team, alongside Rio--a Plague Pearlcatcher in the clan. Eventually, Cobweb decided to leave the clan to serve the Arcanist, but Terra still thinks about her often and misses her headstrong friend. After five years, Terra sought for any living hatchlings of her own and found Sly. The son of her second mate, he still lived in an ancient Nature clan. She sent him a letter to reconnect with him and was overwhelmed with joy when he responded! They continued to be pen pals and she learned about his clan and soulmate, Raziel. They have now allied clans and she periodically keeps in touch with her son and his life and is glad that she decided to reach out. Terra chose her familiar long ago. It was in the early days of the clan when there were very few familiars on clan ground. She was fighting with Cobweb in the Coliseum when she came across a loner elk. He was unafraid of the Ridgeback and walked right up to them to sniff her. Terra liked his nature and rested in his antlers. Over time, they became rather content with the other and treated each other like family. To this day she still rests in his antlers when she's tired, and sometimes Tagno will join her, having been accepted by her elk friend as extended family. Given by @MadJackal55 on 10/26/13.
