Sapphire

Sapphire, ever since she was born, has been a good warrior. Not great, though. Just... good. No matter how hard she trained, she can't seem to get any better, and many of her peers surpassed her. One day, while training, she found a mysterious stone embedded in her wing after injuring it. How long had this artifact been there? She couldn't remember. It was well concealed, and she wouldn't have noticed without her injury. After Sapphire took the stone out of her wing, with little pain or effort, she began to inspect it. It was simply a stone that somehow found its way under her wing's scale. Right? Wrong. On further inspection, it seemed that whenever Sapphire was away from the stone, her powers began to grow stronger and she became an even better warrior. That's what the stone did. It negated the effects of training, exhausting warriors until they became weak and useless. Something that Sapphire would exploit. Using fragments of the stone and help from an expert enchanter, she eventually built an army of stealth-warriors that would silently embed these enchanted stones in other warriors' scales, allowing her clan to take them over. And thus, began a simple snappers' rise to fame and power. All because of one magical stone.
