Biography
An amalgamation of Shade taking on the form of a monstrous water creature very vaguely resembling a Guardian. The Shade slowly took form by absorbing carcasses littered at the very bottom of the Sea, adapting and transforming the body as needed for its watery habitat. The depth and darkness of its habitat hide the Shade residue that many dragons and beastclan alike use to hunt down the Shade.
Description:
A large, aquatic creature that blends into the very depths of the Sea of a Thousand Currents. Its enormous, slender body is covered entirely in tough scales for protection and easy swimming. Black bands pattern its entire body, its belly similar patterned and blue bioluminescent bands in addition to the black. Underbelly has thick, heavily armored fins that can be flared or flattened at will. These run from the base of the tail, up the belly, chest, and neck, covering the throat and underside of the jaw. Midnight spines run down its back, with matching bioluminescent claws on its webbed paws and feet. Tail is thick and strong to propel it through the water. Neck is thick and strong, much like the rest of it's body, to support an enormous head with an intimidating face. Its jaws contain large, extremely sharp teeth for biting into and tearing apart prey. Long, slender scaled horns curve back downwards on the top of its head. Eyes are a deep blue that are perfectly suited for hunting in the darkest depths of the Sea. Large fins like on the underbelly protrude from its cheekbones and protect the six gills on each side of the face and can also be illuminated or flattened.
Behavior:
Predatory in nature, challenged by very few because of its enormous size. Largely unknown to the world of Sornieth, this creature's existence is laughed off as a myth, or used as a story to scare hatchlings into behaving, especially among Water dragons. It is also a popular story among the seafaring pirates of the continent, although if anyone has seen it, they did not survive to tell the tale. Given its size, the creature tends to prey on larger creatures in order to satisfy its equally large appetite, even hunting sizeable dragons should they encroach on its territory. Still, no one can seem to explain the enormous shadow that can occasionally be seen at the surface of the Sea..
