Speaking of, she should have been here a while ago. His smirk dropped to concernm before he heard the whispering that announced the skydancer's presence, and the sinister grin returned.
"Ah. Inkungu. You certainly took your time."
The skydancer's broken voice met him from the darkness. "I-'s to- --te. -he c--i-s h--e ---tt-red. T-e w--ls --ve br--e-. Th- L--ebr--ker -nd he- f---t f---o-er -re f--e on-- a---n."
Pardofelis' smile faded again. "So they escaped."
"Y-s."
Pardofelis rubbed the pommel of his sword. "You know what to do, then."
The voice suddenly changed. "Oh, that I do."
Pardofelis swore. "Ardatha."
The "imperial" laughed. "At your service."
"What game are you playing at?"
"None."
"Then let's play at one."
The obsidian imperial appeared from the darkness, white runes glittering in the dark. The pactmaker wore the humble grey of an advisor, but Pardofelis realized his mistake when the imperial next spoke.
"You wished to play? So let us play."

You set me aflame so I would burn. Little did you know, I would rise again, a dark phoenix. And I will take revenge.
